The best thing about Wordpress is that you can custom everything, any bit of text you see on the Wordpress dashboard can be change. This means that if you are working on a client Wordpress website you can change all text on the page to be customised to your client. In this example we are going to change the Howdy Text in the top right of the Wordpress dashboard.
To change the howdy text in Wordpress all you have to do is add the following code in the functions.php file to change the howdy text to...Hello, welcome back.
function replace_howdy( $wp_admin_bar ) {
$my_account=$wp_admin_bar->get_node('my-account');
$newtitle = str_replace( 'Howdy,', 'Hello, welcome back', $my_account->title );
$wp_admin_bar->add_node( array(
'id' => 'my-account',
'title' => $newtitle,
) );
}
add_filter( 'admin_bar_menu', 'replace_howdy',25 );
